Face plant

Babies supposedly aren't supposed to figure out how to coordinate sucking, swallowing and breathing until more like 34 weeks, but check me out! Dada needs to be careful not to post anything R-rated, though.

"look, do I make fun of how YOU eat?"

I am Lily, hear me roar!

Lily just had her first bath. She didn't care for it at ALL, but we're pleased as can be that her lungs are developed enough to make that much noise!

Make that room 490, not 682

And just like that, they make a liar out of me. :-( Relocated from 6th floor to 4th. Don't ask. (must remember to pack less stuff for next baby...) ;-)
So to recap: baby beautiful, yells loud, mom fine, Mary Birch 858-939-3400, now room 490. Dad wondering how hard tired will hit him when adrenaline wears off entirely. ;-)
-Dad, nee Marcus

Lily's here! And all's well!

I'm too wiped out to go into all the details, but here's the bottom line: our Lily is here and she's perfect.

Mama cooked her just long enough that her little lungs seem to be working without any help at all, the extra three days we kept her in really did the trick. She's a petite 3 pounds 4 ounces, 39 cm, born 12:22AM on January 30th, and if those are underdeveloped lungs, we're in for it. :-)

We're in a different room now, too. Also, we realize now the main number we had was wrong. We're 858-939-3400, room 682.

Mama is doing great, Pinklet couldn't be pinker, and we couldn't be happier.

Tell you all more later, gotta get some sleep while I have the chance. :^D

And now, we are three...Lily Angela-Rose Scholz, born 12:22 AM on January 30th, 2007. Mama gets the first snuggle.

Well, THAT was unexpected...

Hey, everyone,

First of all, everyone's fine, so don't worry, but long story short Pinky's water broke on Friday, at about 32 weeks gestation. The really amazingly lucky part is that we were actually AT Scripps Encinitas, ON a baby monitor...at our ultrasound appt earlier that day the doc noticed we seemed to be contracting, so he sent us to do some monitoring and while we were there it happened. So it's been as under control and non-scary as this sort of thing could be. Bottom line though, we're at Mary Birch until baby insists on finally coming out, which we're very happy to wait as long as possible to occur.

We did get a cool 3-D ultrasound for our trouble, though! Ain't she cute?

We're in room 301 and the number for the hospital is 858 939 4000 if people want to stop by or say hi. I've also got the cell phones. The room is very nice and comfy, and as you can see, Pinky has lots of bears and Gollala for company. (and Marcus, of course!)

So, keep us in your prayers but don't worry on our behalf, we're far enough along that prognosis is super good, it's mostly (knock on wood) a question of how long Lily will be in the NICU, and Mom is totally fine.

We'll keep you posted!
Love
Marcus and Pinky
